Beverley Wilkes is the author of the children’s picture book “Come Here Daisy”
About the author Beverley Wilkes
Working with young children as a primary school teacher has enabled Beverley to observe and nurture many different learning styles.
One approach when teaching young children to write is to encourage them to write about things they know or have experienced. Another is to allow them to imagine what, why or how something might eventuate.
In Beverley’s first picture story book for young children, “Where Do Seagulls Sleep at Night?” the reader is challenged to answer the question. In this story “Come Here Daisy”, Beverley has written about something she observed, creating a simple story easily believed by those reading it or by those listening to the story being read.
