Seamus Turton –
I was one of the first to read the book and I think most of this is actually true believe it or not.
He lives in the bush, and all his environmental wins and community work are documented on his social media, did this really happen?
I have asked him and so have some friends and he has vowed to never tell anyone what is true and what is not besides his daughter on his death bed
Either way easily the best book I have ever read

I know Jake. A lot of people do. The thought of what is based on the actual events of his life nd what isn’t is just as fascinating as the story itself.
I warn you in advance, if you start looking into certain aspects of the story (esp Jake’s personal story) it’s a rabbit hole you may never come out of lol!
As the blurb says, this book has me and many others questioning everything.

The Cave isn’t usually the kind of book I would read, but it quickly pulled me in. Jake Cassar’s writing is fast-paced, intense, and full of unexpected twists. The way he blends mythical creatures with the power of nature and survival makes the story feel immersive and real.
Yana was easily my favourite character. Cassar writes her as a Yowie with a huge heart who feels surprisingly human and relatable. I genuinely felt the characters’ emotions as the story unfolded, which made the experience even more powerful.
Overall, The Cave is an exciting and thought-provoking read. Even though it’s not my usual genre, Jake made it a book I would highly recommend.

This read had me questioning what really drives humanity. Told in an immersive, creative and often funny way, The Cave really does capture the heart of nature and what it should mean to society.
I read this in a few hours and was captivated by Jake’s expertise in his own element.
Well done.

What is written in this book will stay with you.
I have just finished reading The Cave and it was nothing short of transformative and inspirational. The way Jake Cassar has written this book is a really good way of telling a story of humanity through the eyes of the Yowies. Its easy to read and gets under your skin because a thread of truth runs through the narrative. Are humans a parasitic scourge on this planet that should be wiped out or can we redeem ourselves? This book helped me remember what is important. Great read. It will stay with me for a while I reckon.

Great book. So easy to read you don’t realise you are undergoing a sort of a transformation or initiation into what it is to be truelly connected with the land. Jake Cassar tells a great yarn that will stick with me for a long time i reckon.
Ronan Kelly –
This book is actually really thought provoking. It’s an easy fun read with some deep insights to the way we live on earth.

The book is a really good read. And I normally don’t read books like this. There’s a very deep message in this book, one that everyone faces in life on Mother Earth at this time. Do we choose to listen to this message or ignore it. So much of this planet is unseen, and what is seen is profoundly beautiful
Julie Peksis –
A wonderful read. Thought-provoking and yet immensely entertaining with all the elements of a classic story. On the background of what we are all experiencing in the world today with climate change, environmental degradation, plagues, war, and the questioning of human history timelines, the main character of this book is drawn into a magical and enlightening world of nature and cryptic beings. The journey is exciting and sometimes terrifying. Many of us, of all ages, are finding awe and solace in the natural world, and Jake’s book explores the juxtaposition of a natural existence against modern society. Highly recommend this book and stoked to live so close to the very rainforest, caves, creeks and bushland that inspired this book.
