Yellow was the colour of the sparkling morning sunshine as streams of majestic brilliance peeked delightfully over distant craggy mountains. The stirring Australian bush was cheerfully welcoming in, a bright new summers day.
Willow wallaby opened her sleepy brown eyes, stretched her dangly wallaby legs, and gave a big drowsy good morning yawn. Sleepily she tumbled out of her soft leafy bed and let another noisy yawn escape into the fresh dewy sunrise. Her mother smiled quietly to herself thinking how it had not been long since Willow was a little joey in her pouch. “My wonderful Willow,” as Willow’s mother called her, “has grown so quickly and is already a pre-teen wallaby”. Willow was sure she was quite grown-up now that she had more independence, however, what Willow didn’t know, was that there was a bit more to growing up, than leaving mother’s pouch.
