Big Bad Barry is a children’s picture book. Meet Big Bad Barry and his friends through a light-hearted tale of life under the sea.
Discover the mural that spawned a vision for an arts festival to support the Fitzgerald Biosphere, which this book is a pilot and fundraiser for.
Artist and Author Linda Rae grew up on a farm in the Fitzgerald Biosphere. The coast and fishing were an integral part of days off, and Dad was always happiest after a big catch. When he challenged Linda with marking his new boat shed with his unique humour, Big Bad Barry was born.
The original, ‘Big Bad Barry and Friends’, painted in 2021, can be enjoyed on Qualup Court in Bremer Bay, Western Australia.
The Boatshed Tails Vision
The inception of Big Bad Barry spawned a vision to build an arts festival that celebrates, captures, and preserves the unique seaside culture of the Fitzgerald Biosphere while invigorating the regional economy.
Proceeds from the sale of this children’s book will be allocated to the artist’s private fund to develop and realise this dream.
